night for IF

night for illustration friday... i like the topic, it seems like some goth community has taken over the topic submission for illustration friday in the last weeks ! lost, cold, remote, broken, night ! add some grated death, salt and pepper and you have a perfect goth salad. hmmmm.
another subway ticket and another image of horrible quality.

(i love this)

Come away, come away, death

Come away, come away, death,
And in sad cypress let me be laid;
Fly away, fly away, breath;
I am slain by a fair cruel maid.
My shroud of white, stuck all with yew,
O prepare it;

My part of death no one so true
Did share it.

Not a flower, not a flower sweet,
On my black coffin let there be strown:
Not a friend, not a friend greet
My poor corpse where my bones shall be thrown:
A thousand thousand sighs to save,
Lay me, O, where
Sad true lover never find my grave,
To weep there.

float . for illustration friday .

these belong to a series of drawings i did during 2003 and 2004, which were all done on the back of subway tickets. hm, passes. or something. sort of white cardboard things. or something like that. whatever you call them.

i'm aware this picture looks terrible but i've decided to ignore that, in order to post SOMETHING (anything) to this week's topic.

click on it to see it much much larger. well, not so much. but quite.

ROOTS for illustration friday. i actually don't like the roots in this drawing. i prefer the stars and the branches. i did it yesterday, but i've looked at it so many times since then that i don't like it that much anymore.

(was made with pastels, dipping pen and ink) (i used those chalky stick pastels but i don't know the exact name)

this is the other one. he's providing dreams to a city while dealing with his complicated love life. or maybe it has nothing to do with it. maybe he's just falling in love with a dreamer. i think that's what i had in mind when i did this...

illustration friday: dreams

I've been wanting to post this drawing since friday night (when i made it) but i couldn't get a good picture of it (again). I finally gave up and decided to put this one...

This week's topic is dreams and it's a subject I particularly enjoy talking about (and drawing, and writing, etc), so I was very happy to do this one. Plus I finished reading about a month ago the Sandman series, by Neil Gaiman and all of the characters and the stories have been haunting me ever since. Anyhow, this drawing has probably nothing to do with it, unlike another drawing i did afterwards, which i may or may not post here tomorrow.

Just like the previous one, I made this with dipping pen and black ink. I'm not very sure what's under that fishy hat...

This is the first drawing i send to illustration friday. I don't like it much. But i wanted to send something this week, just to start. The problem is that i don't have a scanner...This is a digital photo of the drawing, and it looks worse than it really is.
I tried to fix it with photoshop but it didn't work very well. It's like, the right side is all blue and the left side is all brownish... Next time i'll try to use somebody's scanner or take a better picture.
